Lighthouse Covenant Ministries

Who Are We?

Lighthouse Covenant Ministries is a global interdenominational network through Agape Global Missions which is a tax exempt mission organization based in California (USA) and is also a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in the nation of Uganda, East Africa. Lighthouse Covenant Ministries consists of ministers, churches, Christian ministries and businesses who seek to be a part of fulfilling the Great Commission through the proclamation of the Gospel, discipleship training, leadership development and church planting.

Our Mission

The biblical mandate of the Church is to take the gospel into the entire world—not only to the cities, the suburbs, or the streets of our own country, but to the entire world (Matthew 24:14).  This is an attitude that should be part of all that we do as the Church.

Established by Dr. Linda Marcell, Lighthouse Covenant Ministries has a mission:

  • To serve as an international network to connect Christian leaders, churches, organizations, and businesses for greater works of ministry among the nations worldwide in an effort to accomplish the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).
  • To offer a spiritual covering to independent ministers who are not covered by a church or denomination for the purpose of accountability, credibility, mentorship, training and prayer. The ministry will mentor and prepare leaders to be ordained and deployed for Christian ministry (1 Thessalonians 2:7-8; Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5)
  •  To assist in church planting and parenting orphaned churches and leaders that are in need of help (1 Corinthians 3: 5-11; Acts 15:1-35)
  • To offer leadership development training institutes to equip Christian leaders for the work of ministry (2 Timothy 2:2; Acts 11:26; Acts 19:9-10; Ephesians 4:11-12).
  • To offer short-term missions opportunity for Christian leaders to share their God-given gifts to be a blessing to the nations of the world (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)

Statement of Need:

We have a burden to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ further faster, because many existing churches in Uganda, throughout Africa and around the world have lost focus and have little or no Christian foundation. Cultic practices, traditional African beliefs, ancestral worship and witchcraft have darkened the minds of many. The pursuit of materialism, fame, position and power has caused many Christian leaders to derail from the path of righteousness. Still, others  have not yet been properly discipled and trained, yet they are starting churches and misleading many.  We believe that God continues to raise up apostolic and prophetic leaders as pioneers, who are pathfinders and trailblazers with breakthrough anointing to continue the work of fulfilling the Great Commission.

The Apostolic Mandate & Blueprint

We are called to disciple the nations in practice and operation.  God has given us a blueprint for apostolic leadership found in the New Testament, primarily in the book of Acts. We have the apostolic heart to preach the Gospel with sign and wonders following (Mark 16:15-20); to disciples new converts (John 8:31), train and equip leaders (2 Timothy 2:2; Ephesians 4:11-12), to plant churches, encourage and strengthen already existing churches (Acts 14:21-22, Acts 15:41). We have a desire to penetrate with the Gospel of the Kingdom by going everywhere, unless the Holy Spirit forbids (Matthew 24:14; Acts 16:6-10),  and we have an apostolic discipline to respond to church problems and aid in laying a strong biblical foundation in Christian doctrine ( Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 3:8-11).

Burundi Missions April 2011

Burundi Missions April 2011During our 40 days of prayer and fasting as a ministry, the Lord spoke that Burundi was an open door for ministry.  “Get up and prepare to go to Burundi,” the Lord said clearly to me. I arose and contacted a couple of people that I knew who had contacts in this small nation in East Africa.

The Vision of the Two Baby Sisters

The Vision of the Two Baby SistersDuring my time of prayer on my first trip to Burundi in April, 2011, the Lord showed me a vision.  I saw myself walking in a large green pasture.  The pasture was full of green grass and I saw a spring of water that flowed quietly in the pasture.  As I continued walking, I heard the cries of a baby that seemed to be very near.  As I looked around, I saw the baby in a basket, but the baby was all alone.

As apostles of Christ we could have been a burden to you, but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children.  We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”  1 Thessalonians 2:6-8
