Church Planting

WHY PLANT CHURCHES?

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20

Agape Global Missions was founded with the vision of taking the message of God's love to the nations of the world so that God might be known by all peoples and worshipped as the only true and living God.  We cannot effectively MAKE DISCIPLES and TEACH THEM the commands of Christ outside a church setting.  An evangelistic campaign declares the gospel and brings people to a place of decision, but it doesn't fully teach them all the things that Jesus has commanded us.

We believe that Church Planting is the best way to fulfill the Great Commission.  We started our church planting venture with responsible and strategic evangelism through our various projects and ministry outreaches such as counseling, literacy and vocational training that have led to home Bible studies and fellowships. Through our discipleship and leadership trainings indigenous people are equipped and released to plant churches where the harvest is ready so that new believers can grow as effective witnesses for Christ.

Our God-given Strategy:

  • To go to a region or area as we are led by the Holy Spirit
  • To do prayer walks and spiritual mapping of the assigned area
  • To mobilize a core group or church planting team (equip and train)
  • To develop feasibility studies and needs assessment surveys for the assigned area
  • To evangelize the lost by preaching and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed (holistic ministry outreaches)
  • To disciple new believers through our AGM Reaping the Harvest Discipleship curriculum.
  • Prayer and Intercession for the community
  • Train and equip leaders for the work of ministry
  • Plant other churches

Our Disicpleship Training Program:

God has given us the mandate to reach out to the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ to help equip, and train believers for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12). We believe that the laborers to reap the harvest of souls are within the local churches ready to be matured as strong witnesses for Christ.  The Bible says, “For the earth shall be filled with the KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF THE LORD, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14).

To ensure that strong healthy churches are being planted and established, Agape Global Missions
Has developed, “Reaping the Harvest Discipleship Training Program.”  This material was developed by our Christian Education Task Force for Church Planting to do the following:

  1. To establish a systematic discipleship program that builds upon Biblical principles for godly living.
  2. To offer a practical in-depth study on each topic to prevent doctrinal error.
  3. To offer suggested outline of course study, yet still allow pastors/teachers the liberty to use the curriculum as deemed necessary for their ministry needs.

We believe that we have developed a well-balanced Biblical curriculum that will help pastors equip their local churches.  Agape Global Missions would like to thank Apostle Atlon R. Williams and the World Overcomers Outreach Ministries Church in Memphis, Tennessee for sending us the wealth of books and others materials to assist us in developing this discipleship training program.

“Him we preach, warning every man and teach every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect (mature) in Christ Jesus.”  Colossians 1:28

The Conclusion of The Matter...

Agape Global Missions sees church planting as no option, but a major priority as a divine assignment given by God.  We can never afford to sit back and be glad of what we already have, when there is still so much ground to capture.  We believe it to be our God-given task to evangelize the lost, disciple and equip every believer to bring in the harvest.

We know and understand that we have been given the power to destroy the works of darkness and see the glory of God fill our world.  This will be done when Christians from all walks of life, all nationalities and all social groups come together with a passion burning in their hearts to see the Gospel of the Kingdom go forth through church planting for the glory of our God!
